Growing Early Minds is looking for a Registered Psychologist (General or Clinical) with an interest in paediatrics to join our innovative and supportive Intervention Services team.
About us
Growing Early Minds is a not-for-profit, early intervention and disability support service, based in the heart of Blacktown and Expanding into the Penrith area in late 2022. We are a multidisciplinary service where families can access speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, psychology, and behaviour support all under one roof. Our services are flexible, where we offer in-clinic, mobile and telehealth appointments to our clients.
About our clients/ clientele
- Children 0-14 years of age with a disability or developmental concerns
- Parents, teachers, and early childhood educators
About the Role
While no two days are the same, you will be working predominantly with children 0-16 years of age, either in-clinic, mobile or via telehealth. Your caseload will have plenty of variety, delivering assessments and diagnosis, 1:1 therapy, group therapy, parent workshops and training for teachers and child care educators. As a senior therapist, you will be expected to have applied sound theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in advanced diagnosis and therapeutic interventions, be autonomous in provision of professional services in dealing with complex matters within operational guidelines and policies, and ability to review and prepare professional and in-depth service delivery plans and reports. You will provide professional guidance and supervision to new graduates, junior therapists, allied health assistants, students and volunteers. You will provide leadership in terms of local issues and strategy, and contribute to policy development within the organisation.

- Attractive above-award salary, competitive against NGO’s and Health sector

About you
Desirable criteria
- Experience as a psychologist working with children, adolescents, and their families
- Experience in reviewing and preparing professional and in-depth service delivery plans and reports
- Experience supervising new graduates, junior therapists, allied health assistants, students or volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve and set priorities in complex situations
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
- High level organisational and time management skills
Essential criteria
- Degree qualifications in Psychology
- AHPRA registration as a General or Clinical psychologist
Be eligible and willing to obtain prior to commencement:
- Registration with Medicare
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Current paid Working With Children Check
- Current NDIS Worker Check
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module ‘Quality, Safety and You’
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
