Position Vacant: Speech Pathologist

Growing Early Minds is looking for experienced Speech Pathologists with an interest in paediatrics to join our innovative and supportive Intervention Services team.

About us

Growing Early Minds is a not-for-profit, early intervention and disability support service, based in the heart of Blacktown and Expanding into the Penrith area in late 2022. We are a multidisciplinary service where families can access speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, psychology, and behaviour support all under one roof. Our services are flexible, where we offer in-clinic, mobile and telehealth appointments to our clients.

About our clients/ clientele

  • children 0-14 years of age with a disability or developmental concerns
  • parents, teachers, and early childhood educators


  • providing therapy in-clinic, in the community and via telehealth
  • completing speech therapy assessments
  • providing group therapy interventions
  • organising workshops and training for teachers and childcare educators
  • providing supervision and clinical support to junior speech therapists, allied health assistants and students
  • review clinical notes, session plans and clinical reports

Remuneration and Allowances

  • Attractive above award salary, competitive against NGO’s and Health sector

Caseload and Support

  • Realistic billable hour targets starting from 19 hours for a 38-hour week
  • Monthly operational mentoring sessions
  • Monthly clinical support from the Practice Lead
  • Monthly paid external supervision

About you

Desirable criteria

  • Experience as a Speech Pathologist working with children, adolescents, and their families
  • Experience trialling, assessing, prescribing, and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems
  • Experience with developmental delays and disorders, ASD, ADHD, Genetic Conditions, Intellectual Disability and Down Syndrome.
  • Experience completing speech therapy assessments and developing intervention plans
  • Experience in completing and reviewing session plans and clinical reports
  • Experience providing supervision to junior therapists, allied health assistants and students
  • High level organisational and time management skills

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Current driver license and reliable insured car

Be eligible and willing to obtain prior to commencement

  • Registration with Medicare
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Current employee Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Check
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module ‘Quality, Safety and You’
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (3 doses)
